No better way to start a blog post thats MANY months over due than with a Monty Python quote, now is their? As some of you may know, I’ll be coming in to some free day time very soon ( of my own accord…thank you very much!) so aside from sleeping in and planning activities around Golden Girls on Lifetime, I suspect I will have some free time to return to this  woefully neglected blog.  I always have plenty to say…just never have the time (or maybe its dedication) to say it…maybe I should investigate doing a video blog…it takes out the typing portion… scratch that idea…you can photoshop photos to thin you out but I dont think I’m high tech enough to do the same for video….so regular blogging it is. Stay Tune…updates, opinions, and offenses to follow soon. 

The first thing noticable about Patti Lupone as she took to the stage of the Carnival Center Knight Concert Hall on October 7th was how remarkably she has begun to look like Chita Rivera. That random and fleeting thought was interrupted by the thunderous applause with which she was welcomed by the audience full of theater aficionados who had flocked to see the musical theater diva perform live.Though nearly 30 years have passed since she shot to stardom in the title role of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Evita, Lupone remains in her vocal prime; and her one-woman show Coulda, Woulda, Shouldarapidly puts her audience on notice that despite her age (near 60), she has maintained her most impressive instrument.

The Broward Center’s for the Performing Arts was buzzing with excitement on Monday night, for what was certainly the seasons hottest ticket. Playing to a sold out house at the Au Rene Theater, The Fort Lauderdale Gay Men’s Chorus and Broadway legend Barbara Cook shared the bill for an unforgettable evening of song.      READ MORE…
